GM 88-00 K1500 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit - 6-Lug, 11in Drum

If your Chevy or GMC K1500, Suburban, or Yukon is still riding on heavy-duty 11" drum brakes out back, this conversion kit brings you into the disc brake era without breaking the bank. Designed for the heavy-duty 6-lug rear ends found under many OBS trucks and SUVs, this kit bolts on with no welding required, and in most cases you won't even need to pull the axle shafts.

This kit fits 1988-1999 Chevrolet and GMC K1500 pickups and 1992-2000 OBS SUVs (Blazer, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Denali, Escalade) as well as certain 1988-1998 C2500 and 1996-2002 Express/Savana 2500 vans equipped with the heavy-duty 11" drum axle. Every serviceable part in this kit is also available individually through our replacement parts section.

Before ordering, verify your axle flange dimensions and offset using the reference diagrams in the product description - this can be checked without removing anything by simply measuring the flange on the back side of your drum. If you have the lighter-duty 10" drum axle instead, we have a dedicated kit built specifically for that application.

This kit accounts for two common axle configurations: the standard 3.6" offset found on most trucks, or the less common 5.1" offset, which requires machined aluminum spacers (included when selected) to properly locate the rotor and caliper. Getting this measurement right before you order will save you a return trip to the parts counter.

Choose smooth rotors for a clean factory-style look, or upgrade to drilled and slotted rotors for improved heat dissipation and bite. On the caliper side, keep your parking brake functional with our black or red parking brake calipers, or go full performance with Wilwood calipers in black or red (note: Wilwood calipers do not retain parking brake function).

We highly recommend adding our CK1500 Master Cylinder Upgrade alongside this kit to ensure proper fluid volume for the new calipers - it's designed for vacuum booster applications only, and stock hardlines will need slight readjustment to align with the new ports.

Fitment note: this kit fits inside many, but not all, 15" wheels; light sanding of caliper contact points typically resolves any clearance issues. Due to ongoing kit updates, actual parts may vary slightly from the photos shown.
