GM 88-00 K1500 Front Brake Upgrade Kit - 6-Lug

Your Chevy or GMC K1500's front brakes came from the factory with a job to do, but three decades of service (and maybe a lift kit and bigger tires) means it's time for an upgrade. This front brake upgrade kit lets you keep your stock-style rotors while adding serious clamping power, with options to fit both the early and late-production 6-lug K1500 front ends.

Start by selecting your model: 1988-1991 K1500 4wd pickups with standard cab and standard chassis use a 1.0 inch width rotor, while 1988-2000 K1500 4wd pickups with standard cab/heavy chassis, extended cab trucks, and all SUV variants use the wider 1.25 inch rotor. Getting this selection right is critical for proper fitment, so double check your truck's rotor width before ordering.

From there, decide how far you want to take the upgrade. Leave the caliper selection at None to simply refresh your stock-style front end, or step up to our larger piston calipers finished in red powdercoat for noticeably improved bite and fade resistance - a popular choice for guys running bigger wheels and tires or towing regularly. You can also add a set of braided stainless steel hoses in place of your aging factory rubber lines, which firms up pedal feel and eliminates the ballooning that rubber hoses develop with age.

This kit is designed as a direct bolt-on for 6-lug Chevy and GMC K1500 trucks and SUVs from 1988-2000, no fabrication or special tools required. If your rear end is still running drums, check out our K1500 rear disc conversion kits (10in or 11in drum) to finish the job front to back.
