If you're running a K1500 4x4 OBS truck and pushing your suspension travel to the limit - whether that's a lift for trail duty or just squeezing more strength out of a heavily-used front end - Rough Country's forged upper control arms are a massive step up from the tired factory stamped-steel pieces.

Rough Country forges these arms from a single piece of high-strength steel instead of stamping and welding thin sheet metal together like the factory does. That one difference matters more than people realize - forged construction means there's no seams to crack, no stress risers where a stamped arm likes to fold under hard use, and significantly more strength in the exact spots where your factory arms are most likely to fail after a couple hundred thousand miles of Michigan potholes or trail abuse.

These arms are built with additional strength and increased ball joint travel over stock, which matters if you're running a lift kit and need the extra articulation without binding out your CV axles or grinding your tires into your fender liners at full droop. Even if you're not lifted, if your factory upper arms are showing their age - cracked bushings, bent arms from a pothole encounter, or just general fatigue - this is a straight-up upgrade that will outlast anything GM originally bolted on.

Installation is a direct bolt-on affair using your factory upper ball joint mounting points and factory bushings hardware - no cutting, no modification, no drama. Any competent front end shop can knock this out in an afternoon, and if you're doing it yourself, expect a straightforward day with basic hand tools and a torque wrench.

Fits: Chevrolet K1500 truck, 1988-1999 (classic body only).

Why forged beats stamped: No weld seams to crack, more strength under load, increased ball joint travel for lifted applications, and a component that will genuinely outlast the factory piece.
