If you're not ready to swap in Ridetech's StrongArms but still want a genuine upgrade in ride quality and handling, the CoolRide Front System for Stock Arms is the answer. This complete coilover conversion bolts up to your factory upper and lower control arms while delivering the adjustable ride height and improved damping that leaf-spring-era front suspensions simply can't match.
The name CoolRide comes from Ridetech's engineering focus on keeping AC lines and brake lines running clean and away from heat and pinch points during suspension travel - a detail a lot of budget coilover conversions completely ignore. You get a system that not only rides and handles better, but doesn't create new problems for the rest of your truck's systems down the road.
This system includes everything needed to convert your factory front suspension to coilovers while retaining your stock control arms: coilover shocks, correct-rate springs, and all the mounting hardware to make it a clean, correct installation. You'll get adjustable ride height so you can dial in your stance, plus dramatically improved damping control over the factory shocks that came in this truck when Bush Sr. was in office.
This is the smart entry point into the Ridetech coilover world - if down the road you decide to upgrade to full StrongArms for the complete geometry correction, the coilover knowledge and adjustment experience carries right over. For now, this gets your stock-arm front end riding and handling like a truck with 30-plus fewer years on the clock.
Installation uses your factory upper and lower control arm mounting points - no cutting or welding required, though as always we recommend a proper front-end alignment once you've got your ride height dialed in.
Fits: Chevrolet C1500 1988-1998 (with factory stock control arms).
