Anyone who's laid a truck out on the ground knows the factory tie rods aren't built for the geometry changes that come with a serious drop. Phat Phabz built this adjustable tie rod kit specifically to solve that problem on 1988-1998 C1500s, giving you the range of adjustment you need to dial in proper toe and bump steer once your truck is sitting low.

When you drop a truck's ride height significantly, whether on bags or a static lowering setup, the factory tie rod geometry gets thrown out of whack. That's what causes the darty, nervous steering feel a lot of guys fight after a big drop - the tie rods are working at an angle they were never designed for. This kit gives you heavy-duty adjustable rod ends with enough thread and adjustment range to correct that geometry and get your alignment back into a sane range.

Beyond just fixing bump steer, these adjustable tie rods are simply stronger and more precise than tired factory rubber-bushed tie rod ends, especially on a truck that's got some miles on it already. If you're already in there replacing steering components for a drop, upgrading to an adjustable setup is a no-brainer - you get a tighter steering feel and the ability to fine-tune your alignment without hunting down shims or spacers.

Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic front end work - these bolt into the factory steering linkage mounting points using factory-style hardware, no cutting or welding required. That said, we always recommend a proper alignment from a shop that understands lowered trucks once you've got these installed and your ride height set.

Fits: Chevrolet C1500 1988-1998.

Why you need this: Corrects bump steer and toe geometry after a significant lowering job, upgrades over tired factory rubber bushings, and gives you real adjustment range to dial in your alignment.

Running bags or a static drop kit? Pair this with our front air kits or lowering control arms for a front end that handles as good as it looks.
