An easy, affordable way to knock 1"-2" off your rear ride height, these McGaughys adjustable drop shackles are a direct bolt-on replacement for your factory rear leaf spring shackles, engineered specifically for the heavier OBS C2500/C3500 platform rather than adapted from a lighter-duty application.
Drop shackles work by changing the pivot geometry at the rear of your leaf spring, lowering the truck without the more involved process of swapping full leaf springs or adding a flip kit. It's one of the fastest, most affordable rear drop options available and a great entry point if you're not ready to commit to a full lowering kit yet, or the perfect finishing touch paired with front coil springs for a complete stance.
Built from heavy-duty steel to handle the higher loads a 3/4-ton or 1-ton truck's leaf springs put through this hardware - this is not the same shackle you'd run on a half-ton C1500. McGaughys engineers these specifically for the OBS heavy-duty spring pack and shackle mounting geometry, so you get a proper fit and long-term durability rather than premature wear or sag.
Installation is straightforward with basic hand tools - support the rear axle, remove the factory shackles, bolt in the McGaughys units, and lower the truck back down. Most guys knock this out in an hour or two without needing a lift or specialty tools, making it one of the more approachable suspension upgrades on this list.
Keep in mind that with any rear drop, driveshaft angle and brake line length should be checked once the truck settles at ride height, and depending on your tire size you may need to check for clearance against the bed or wheel well. Pair with our rear shock extenders if you're combining this with any additional rear drop for correctly matched shock travel.
