For guys chasing a serious front drop on their C2500 or C3500 without moving to a full spindle-based kit, this 3" McGaughys coil spring is the top of the range. It's the biggest drop McGaughys offers as a straight spring swap on the OBS heavy-duty platform, and it's engineered to get you there without the ride turning to garbage or your alignment going haywire.

Big block trucks and small block trucks carry meaningfully different front weight, so McGaughys builds this spring in two distinct rates - a 350 small block spec and a heavier-duty 454 big block spec - so the drop and the ride quality land where they should regardless of what's under your hood. We also break out Regular Cab vs Extended/Crew Cab, since the extra sheet metal up front on a longer cab changes the load the front springs see.

At 3" of front drop, expect a noticeably aggressive stance, especially paired with a matching rear drop kit. This is squarely in the "just enough before you need a spindle kit" territory - past this, most guys start looking at drop spindles or a full deluxe kit to maintain proper geometry. At 3", though, a quality spring like this keeps everything within factory-intended range.

Because your OBS C2500/C3500 is a heavier truck than its C1500 sibling, don't assume a C1500 spring will work here - the spring rates, wire diameter, and free height are all different to handle the extra curb weight and payload capacity these trucks are rated for. This listing is built specifically for the 3/4-ton and 1-ton platform.

Standard coil spring installation applies - use a proper spring compressor, swap the springs, reassemble, and get an alignment. If you're running this with a rear drop kit or shackles, check your driveshaft angle and brake line length before hitting the road, and inspect bump stops for adequate clearance at your new ride height.
