GM 88-00 K1500 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit - 6-Lug, 10in Drum

Stop dragging around drum brakes on your Chevy or GMC K1500! This rear disc brake conversion kit takes the light-duty 6-lug 10" drum rear end on your OBS truck or SUV and turns it into a real disc brake setup, without cutting, welding, or pulling axle shafts. If you've ever tried to adjust drum shoes on a 30-year-old Chevy K1500 in your driveway, you already know why this kit exists.

This kit is purpose-built for 1988-1999 Chevy and GMC K1500 pickups and 1992-2000 OBS SUVs (Blazer, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Denali, Escalade) running light-duty 6-lug rear ends with 10" drum-style axles. Every part needed for the swap is included, and every serviceable component is also sold individually if you ever need a replacement down the road.

Before you order, verify your axle flange dimensions against the reference diagram in the instructions - even if your truck is listed above, if the flange doesn't match or you don't have the 10" drum axle, this kit will not bolt up. If you have the heavier 11" drum axle instead, we have a dedicated kit for that application.

Every kit starts with a smooth rotor option, or you can upgrade to drilled and slotted rotors for better heat dissipation and a more aggressive look peeking out from behind your wheels. From there, choose your caliper: stick with the standard non-parking-brake caliper if you're running a separate e-brake system, or select one of our parking brake calipers (available in black or red) to retain full functional parking brake capability - just like the factory intended, but with way better stopping power. For the ultimate upgrade, step up to Wilwood calipers in black or red, though keep in mind the Wilwood units are performance calipers only and do not have parking brake function.

We also strongly recommend pairing this rear kit with our CK1500 Master Cylinder Upgrade, sold separately, to make sure your new disc brakes have the fluid volume and pressure they need to work properly. Note that the master cylinder upgrade is designed for vacuum booster applications only (not hydroboost), and stock hardlines will need slight readjustment to line up with the new ports.

Fitment note: this kit will fit inside many, but not all, 15" wheels. If the caliper contacts the inside of your wheel, clearance can usually be gained with light sanding of the caliper's contact points. Due to ongoing kit updates, actual parts may vary slightly from the product photos.
