billet-narrowed-tie-rods
Billet Narrowed Tie Rods

Machined, Assembled, and Packaged in the USA!

If you've narrowed the front end of your OBS Chevy or GMC to tuck a bigger wheel, you already know the factory tie rods just aren't going to cut it anymore. Once you've narrowed your control arms, your stock-length inner and outer tie rods are now fighting a suspension geometry they were never designed for, and that fight usually shows up as bump steer, uneven tire wear, and a truck that wanders down the road instead of tracking straight. We built these billet narrowed tie rods specifically to solve that problem.

Each tie rod is CNC machined from tough billet aluminum and shortened by 1.5 inches per side, for a total of 3 inches of narrowing — enough to complement a properly narrowed front suspension without throwing your steering geometry out of whack. These rods replace both your inner and outer tie rod ends in one clean assembly, and because they correct bump steer that stock-length (or improperly shortened) tie rods can't handle, your steering stays predictable even after you've tubbed the front end for those big wheels and low stance you're after.

We didn't cheap out on the joints, either. These tie rods use heavy-duty 3/4" heim joints — a serious upgrade over the worn rubber-bushed factory tie rod ends most OBS trucks are still riding on 25+ years later. Heim joints give you a tighter, more precise steering feel and, just as important, let your alignment shop fine-tune toe adjustment with a lot more range than factory hardware allows. If you're already dealing with a narrowed front clip, you want that adjustability.

⚠ Before You Install — Read This:

Drilling required: Your spindle and center link must be drilled out to 5/8" to accept the new heim joint hardware. Either way, you're getting American-machined billet aluminum construction built to handle the geometry changes that come with a proper narrow job, not a bent stock tie rod trying to do a job it was never designed for.

If you're serious about tucking wheels and running a narrowed front end, don't try to make the factory tie rods work — they won't, and you'll be fighting bump steer and premature tire wear the whole time. Do the job right the first time with a tie rod built specifically for a narrowed OBS front end, drill your spindle and center link to spec, and get an alignment shop to dial in your toe once they're installed.

Fitment: 1988-1999 Chevy/GMC C1500 | C2500 OBS, 1992-1999 Chevy C1500 Suburban, 1995-1999 Chevy/GMC Tahoe/Yukon.
